A phenomenon where one allele of a gene can overpower or subordinate the effect of a different gene's allele/s. This is a form of genetic interaction that produces unique genetic ratios. For example in an organism where gene A overpowered any effect of gene B, then at least 12 of the 16 possible combinations in a dihybrid cross would display the A characteristic.
